Interesting Facts About Beer

The term "rule of thumb" originated from the beer brewing process. Before the invention of thermometers, brewers tested the temperature of their brews with their thumbs. If the brew was too cold when the yeast was added, the yeast wouldn't grow. But, if it was too hot, the yeast would die.
