BAM Fest, held at the 18th Street Art Center in Santa Monica, would easily make my top 5 festivals of 2011. Take fun music, world-class craft breweries sharing special brews, some of the best food trucks in LA and add in a wonderful setting and an awesome crowd and you’ve got BAM Fest. Yep, it’s a good time. Don’t believe me? Take a look at my photo re-cap from the 2011 event.
Thankfully, the fest is back this year, and with a strong list of breweries, bands, and food, it is sure not to disappoint. BAM Fest 2012 will take place on October 6th from 1-6pm and I highly suggest you check it out. One of the things I liked most about this event was that it was on the smaller side, but that also means risk of selling out, so get your tickets soon! It’s not only smart to do so, but also economical. Tickets go on sale August 1st for $35, then go up in price the longer you wait. They will be $45 at the door (if they last that long). For that price you get entry to the event, a tasting glass and unlimited sampling of beer. And rest assured, your money is going to a good cause, as all proceeds benefit the 18th Street Arts Center.
At the event, you’ll be delighted with the likes of 30+ breweries, 4 bands, 3 galleries, open artist studios, an artist market, and gourmet food trucks. Grab a beer, look at some art, dance in the sun, and replenish with gourmet tacos. Sounds like a perfect afternoon to me. Below is the (current) full line-up of breweries and food trucks- it’s an impressive one! So, mark your calendar for October 6th, grab your tickets, and start looking forward to a good time at BAM Fest 2012.
